Opera Plans to Integrate Cryptocurrency Wallet in Browser

Opera, one of the world’s leading browser has unveiled its plans to launch a built-in crypto wallet in its desktop browser. Notably, the company has already integrated a crypto wallet in its Android app which received favorable reviews from the crypto community.

According to the statement made by Charles Hamel, Product Lead, Opera Crypto – This move is done as a means to remove the need for additional browser extension or a dedicated app.

Opera users will not be able to access the cryptocurrency wallet on their PC as well. It will allow users to browse Web 3.0 and use Decentralized apps (Dapps) on their computers seamlessly for added convenience.

The need for an additional browser extension is not required and the users can easily access and manage their cryptocurrencies by scanning a QR code on the browser. The user’s smartphone will store the access keys. This will allow users to use the fingerprint security of their smartphones to access their wallets, replacing the long impossible-to-remember keys while maintaining the highest level of security.

This integrated solution is coming to Opera’s mobile and PC browsers soon. It will enable over 322 million users to commence using this wallet in their day-to-day lives.

Notably, Opera launched crypto jacking protection for its mobile browser. This made it the first browser to offer this service.

BitMain gained a majority stake in Opera last month. It seems that the company has already started implementing its strategy to take the Opera browsing experience to the next level.
